该通知指出，联邦议会已经通过新gst法案：澳大利亚将从2018年7月1日开始把gst的征收扩大到消费者进口低价值的实物货品。

因此，届时年营业额7.5万澳元以上的供应商都拥有缴纳gst的义务，这些企业现在就需要采取行动去检查并对接gst系统，以保证他们能遵守这个规定。

根据该法案，澳大利亚gst的征收将增加相关范围及规定：1.如果货物是由消费者进行购买并在供应商协助下被进口到澳大利亚，尽管产品的价值低于1000澳元，仍需缴纳gst。

2.如果消费者在电商平台购物商品，商品是在平台或者供应商的协助下进入澳大利亚，那么电商平台的运营方将被视为低价值货物供应商。

此外，gst也可以抵扣,即卖家在提供销售额时收取消费者的税（gstcollected）,可以扣减在别人那里购买商品或服务时候交的税（gstpaid）,最终需要交给澳大利亚税务局的是：卖家收取消费者的税－购买商品或服务缴纳的税。
